move your own mountain

Women Move Mountains presents a Lake District adventure for women who love real challenges, meaningful connections and authentic experiences.
Set in the heart of the Lake District National Park you'll experience stunning trails, incredible ridge lines and summits with views to die for. There will be options for taking a dip in crystal clear streams or even a day exploring a via ferrata, an exhilarating introduction to climbing using fixed ladders and cables to ascend rock in the mountains. We return each afternoon to a beautiful, warm house for an evening of relaxation and a three-course, plant-based meal. This is where adventure meets relaxation.
We've found that fixed dates can unintentionally exclude women who would otherwise join our retreats. So we do things a little differently. Each summer, we open spaces for a Women Move Mountains Lake District Adventure Retreat. When a minimum of 6 women commit, we confirm a date together and secure our base here in the Lake District. By waiting until a small group has formed and then setting the date together, we make the experience possible for everyone and ensure the group feels cohesive from the start.
Our retreats are 4 nights with three full days in the fells and all include some time online in advance to plan, prepare and get to one another a little bit before arrival. With a maximum of ten women, there’s space to be seen and heard without being overwhelmed.
How it works:
1. You register your interest
Submit your details to hold your place and let us know you’re keen. This isn’t a commitment to a specific date yet it simply lets us know you want to be part of the next group.
2. We hold your place
We’ll keep your spot reserved while we gather others for the retreat. Nothing happens until the minimum group is reached
3. Confirmation of date
Once we have a minimum of six committed women, we confirm a date together and you pay a deposit to secure your spot.
4. Retreat preparation begins
Accommodation is secured locally here in the Lake District and we set up our online sessions to help you plan, prepare and connect with your fellow participants.

Before, during and after

Before
Planning and preparation
In the weeks before your retreat we'll host a series of online sessions where we'll guide you through everything you need to know and do to ensure you feel confident and excited when you arrive in the mountains. This will include practical things like what to bring and address concerns like 'am I fit enough'.
You’ll also have access to a range of resources, including how-to guides to support your preparation.

During
Adventure Retreat
You'll spend the week at a beautiful house in the heart of the Lake District with Beth, Founder of Women Move Mountains, and a qualified Mountain Leader. Each day will bring new adventures, optional yoga sessions, an evening briefing about the next day and delicious, nutritious meals. We'll be out and about together but there will be down time for yourself too.

After
Coaching and community
Following the retreat you’ll have the option for regular one-on-one coaching to help integrate the lessons learned on the mountain into your everyday life. You can read more about coaching and why we do it here. You’ll also become part of a supportive community of women who have completed other Women Move Mountains programmes, with exclusive access to future adventures.
